Porsche Carrera GT Sound?
Why a Carrera GT is so raucous exhaust note? I want to know what gives the engine the sound. I know that not because it "revs high," a BMW M5 does not sound like that. Just because the silent, because it is always hoarse with straight pipes. Perhaps a better car compared with a Gallardo Lamboghini. both relatively small reving high, compared with dual motors cam with similar investment. Why these two engines, both with straight exhaust pipes of the notes have radically different? For comparison listen to AWE Carrera GT W / straight pipes and Gallardo Fabspeed's W / straight pipes. One looks like a race car the other sounds like a car without a silencer. I am looking for specific design engine (s) which gives the CGT, is the sound. Perhaps the form of exhaust ports in the head, that sort of thing.
Some interesting comments so far ... Firstly, the V10 in a Carrera GT has little to nothing common with the engine in a Boxster! Not even sure why this has been mentioned, unless the frequent confusion is the layout of the boxer used most often in Porsche Boxster sounds like ... but again, in this case we are talking about a V10, not a flat 10. The difference of its ... ultimatley that is because they are different engines. Different intake air with the internal workings and design various different all power in a different exhaust system. The V10 Carrera GT has been derived from a racing engine, and it is substantially different ways which would have been directly designed for street use. In addition, being a sports car versus a car result. Both V10, but quite different from the pooling.
