Why my house humidifier is leaking, I just install it?
I just installed a duct mount humidifier-powered (no a bypass). When I turned for the first time I noticed water flowing out of the unit. After having stopped and took a good look that I noticed that the distribution of water on the plate was not properly so I fixed that. I also made sure it was plumb and level. For some reason the darn thing keeps leaking. I decided to quit during the night, but hoped that one of you find the spirits there could give me some tips for the morning, it wont take long term. This is a brand new unit first time running. - The strainer shall be sloped a little or if the slope whole unit a bit toward the drain may be. There is a lot of water and seems like he is leaving the bin distribution and 10% of the water comes in a so the sides and the hole in the solenoid wiring, etc. - any clues would be great thank you a bunch
there are good chances that the float arrest is defective or installed too high. If it is a drum humidifier, some of them have a variable hole increased for the float, loosen a bit and then lower it as low as it can go. When you mention a slope towards the drain, but this is not a bypass humidifier, Im not entirely sure what you mean. Either you have a humidifier without a drip hose to pipe hot air, or you're referring a drum (water stand still with rotating pad). If it is a humidifier drip, and must be up with a drain to the sewer, be sure to fixing the drain hose to the drain spout. If it is a drum, open it, let the water flow, and make sure the float closes the water completely when you meet. Sometimes, even with a humidifier stand water velocity of air from the hot air is too high and blows the water out, but it really should be mounted on the return duct air with a 6-inch pipe connecting to the hot air. I put it on my watch list, please update with more details.
