Exchange of my exhaust manifold of the headers on my 2002 Civic?
I want to replace my exhaust manifold for a system beautiful polished head on my 2002 Honda Civic LX. Is it possible to use the OEM catalytic converter system with a replacement head? if not what are my options? I know I can not use a straight pipe or cat broadband. Due to NYS regulations smog. I'm not really sure what to do because I have keep my "Check Engine" light off to pass inspection. Please help! Sorry, my check engine light is not on, but if I drop my cat. I'm almost positive converter will come on.
Yes, you can run the head with a converter. You will need to reset the car if you want to see any performance gain. With the head the engine will run lean until the tuning is done. Car may even perform worse until it is resolved.
