My Honda Accord keeps overheating ... what is wrong?
I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX. I changed the thermostat on it a Saturday, and it was fine the next day, we changed it when my husband took the car and it work the following Monday. He began warming again that day ... So we parked, until I could get my brother to come help change Radiator hoses. We did it last Sunday. My husband drove the car on Monday and he did fine. Then I drove past and present, and he did fine up today! I was on my way to take a cat to the vet and he started heats up, quickly. I drove home and started heating up not long before I came. He started smoking, "boil" when I parked and off. It was a little smoke under the radiator hose length. What might be? Help!?!
it's a good possibility of your electric radiator fan is not working. if you have air conditioning then on again and see if the temperature drops - the air conditioning turns on the condenser fan and will act as a radiator fan to draw air on the radiator. chances are you have air conditioning or defrost on when the car was not overheating the radiator fan is to the rear, you should hear the run when the car is stopped if it was overheating. if the fan is not working it might not be the fan relay or thermostat fan, but chances are that the engine itself is entered. try running the car with air conditioning on and see if it overheats. if not then the radiator fan is not working. if it does overheat, then watch the fans when the engine is hot and see if they work, there is a chance both fan motors arent working. if the fans do not work then they will probably need to be replaced Hope that helps
